The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) said in a statement on one of its websites that the two police officers were killed at around 6 a.m. (0300 GMT) in the town of Ceylanpinar for "collaboration with the Daesh (Islamic State) gangs."

ReplyDeleteLes rebelles du Parti des travailleurs du Kurdistan (PKK) ont revendiqué mercredi le meurtre de deux policiers turcs retrouvés morts près de la frontière syrienne en représailles à l'attentat suicide meurtrier attribué lundi au groupe jihadiste Etat islamique (EI).
"Le 22 juillet vers 6h00, une action punitive a été conduite (...) contre deux policiers qui coopéraient avec le gang de Daech (l'acronyme arabe de l'EI) à Ceylanpinar", a écrit sur son site internet la branche armée du PKK, les Forces de défense du peuple (HPG).
Mercredi matin, deux policiers ont été retrouvés morts, tués d'une balle dans la tête, dans un immeuble de la ville de Ceylanpinar, à la frontière avec la Syrie, avait annoncé dans la matinée le gouverneur de la province de Sanliurfa, Izzetin Küçük.
Cette opération et sa revendication interviennent deux jours après l'attentat qui a fait au moins 32 morts et une centaine de blessés dans une autre ville frontalière de la Syrie, Suruç (sud), située à une centaine de kilomètres plus à l'ouest.
L'attaque de Suruç a visé un groupe de jeunes militants de gauche partisans de la cause kurde qui souhaitaient traverser la frontière pour participer à la reconstruction à Kobané. Cette ville syrienne a été détruite par quatre mois d'intenses combats qui se sont soldés par la victoire des milices kurdes de Syrie sur les combattants jihadistes.

Anatolia said the fire came from an area controlled by IS in Syria. The Dogan news agency said four soldiers had been wounded.
Turkish tanks from the fifth armoured brigade then responded by opening fire on targets controlled by IS jihadists in Syria, NTV television said, adding that one IS militant had also been killed.
The clashes are among the most serious yet between the Turkish army and IS, which has seized swathes of Iraq and Syria right up to the Turkish border.

ReplyDelete“Turkish soldiers returned fire after shots came from the Syrian side of the border, from the region where Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants are. The clash is going on at the moment,” the official said.
Local media reports said the clashes were close to the village of Elbeyli, east of the Turkish town of Kilis, and an area where the armed forces have sent reinforcements in recent weeks.
Turkey’s NATO allies have long expressed concern about control of its border with Syria, which in parts runs directly parallel with territory controlled by ISIS. Monday’s suicide bombing in the southeastern town of Suruc highlighted fears about Syria’s conflict spilling onto Turkish soil.
The Turkish army has already stepped up security along parts of the border in recent weeks, as the conflict in Syria involving Kurdish militia fighters, Islamist militants and Syrian security forces intensifies.
Around half of the armored vehicles which patrol Turkey’s borders are now along the Syrian frontier, another government official told Reuters earlier.
