Information about an alleged breakthrough of Ukrainian troops from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol is false and was previously circulated by the Ukrainian side to uphold the combat spirit of its military servicemen, Spokesman for the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin said on Monday.
"This information, if it was there at all, is outdated as there can be no attempts of a breakthrough at all, because we are in full control of this industrial zone’s perimeter both on the ground and from the air," Basurin said speaking on air of Russia’s Channel One television channel. "This is why everyone attempting a breakthrough will be eliminated and they understand it."
"This information [posted by social networks on attempts of Ukrainian troops’ breakthrough from the Azovstal plant] is probably about fake news aimed to keep the high morale of the troops across Ukraine," Basurin added.
