Kremlin called security guarantees for Ukraine from the G7 a dangerous step

Providing Ukraine with any security guarantees is extremely wrong and very dangerous, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"By providing any security guarantees to Ukraine, these countries are actually ignoring the international principle of the indivisibility of security. That is, by providing security guarantees to Ukraine, they encroach on the security of the Russian Federation," the Kremlin spokesman told reporters.

According to him, this is fraught with "very, very negative consequences" in any planning horizon.

 As Amanda Sloat, senior director for Europe at the National Security Council at the White House, said today at the NATO summit in Vilnius, the leaders of the G7 countries will announce long-term commitments to ensure the security of Ukraine.

 According to the Sky News TV channel, the document provides for the allocation of military equipment to Kyiv, strengthening the exchange of intelligence, expanding training programs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the development of industrial facilities.

Today, the second day of the two-day NATO summit is taking place in Vilnius, with the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Kyiv authorities have repeatedly stated that they will not be satisfied with any outcome of the meeting, except for an accelerated admission to the alliance.

 The Kremlin emphasizes that it is closely monitoring the situation and reminds that it was precisely the orientation of the Kyiv regime towards joining NATO that became one of the reasons for the start of the military operation.
