Iran’s Air Defense Base said the country’s air defenses have successfully confronted Israeli acts of aggression.
The Air Defense Base issued a statement on Saturday, saying that the criminal, illegitimate and fake regime of Israel in a move to escalate tensions launched attacks on some military sites in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam in the early hours of today.
Iran’s air defenses intercepted and successfully confronted the acts of aggression, it said, adding that some limited damage was caused in some areas, the dimensions of which are being investigated.

Iran is ready to retaliate against Israeli aggression as announced earlier, an informed source told Tansim.

Early Saturday morning, people reported hearing several explosions in the Iranian capital.
The blasts were heard west of Tehran, some people said.
The sounds of explosions were related to the engagement of Iranian Army air defenses with Israeli military actions in three locations around Tehran.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will respond if Iran begins a new round of escalation," IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a statement.

The Israeli military has carried out three waves of strikes on targets in Iran, Barak Ravid, political reporter for the Axios media outlet, said, citing sources.

But there were no reports of hearing the sound of warplanes or missiles. There were also no reports of fire or smoke being seen in the city.
According to some sources, the air defenses have fired missiles, but the situation in the capital is normal, including at Imam Khomeini (RA) and Mehrabad airports.
The Israeli army is keeping an eye out for potential retaliatory strikes by Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The Pentagon moved quickly to say that it had been informed beforehand by Israel and that there was no US involvement in the operation. A US official has said the targets did not include energy infrastructure or nuclear facilities - targets the Biden administration had urged Israel not to attack.
The US has urged Iran not to retaliate against the latest Israeli strikes against it.
