US forces hit Houthi weapons storage sites in Yemen

The United States conducted precision strikes on Wednesday against five underground weapons storage locations in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement.

"US forces targeted several of the Houthis' underground facilities housing various weapons components of types that the Houthis have used to target civilian and military vessels throughout the region," Austin said.

  1. The US military conducted multiple air strikes on several underground Houthi weapons storage facilities inside Yemen, a US defense official told Al Arabiya English late Wednesday.

    The facilities contained various advanced conventional weapons used to target military and civilian vessels navigating international waters throughout the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, the official said.
