US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to London on Thursday for a meeting of the so- called "Friends of Syria" group, his spokeswoman said on Monday.
The top American envoy will discuss with his counterparts from 10 other members the ongoing efforts to ease humanitarian suffering inside Syria, support the "moderate" opposition, and advance a political transition, State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki told reporters at a daily news briefing.

The top American envoy will discuss with his counterparts from 10 other members the ongoing efforts to ease humanitarian suffering inside Syria, support the "moderate" opposition, and advance a political transition, State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki told reporters at a daily news briefing.
- She dismissed as "incorrect" press reports about Kerry's planned meeting in London with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas over the halted peace talks with Israel. "There's no meeting planned," she added.
- Washington announced last week more measures to support the National Coalition of Syrian Opposition and Revolutionary Forces, including granting foreign mission status to its representative offices in the United States and giving additional non-lethal aid.
- Ahmed Jarba, the coalition's president, is currently in the United States for a visit.
