Biden instructed the Pentagon to give Kyiv a Patriot battery and train pilots for the F-16

American President Joe Biden has instructed the Pentagon to transfer an additional Patriot air defense battery to Ukraine.

The US Department of Defense should also consider expanding training for Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets, the White House said.

 “To further strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, I have instructed the Department of Defense to repair and supply Ukraine with an additional Patriot air defense battery,” the American leader said in a statement.

The United States Department of Defense has been instructed, among other things, to transfer Patriot air defense missiles to Kyiv.

 In addition, the Pentagon should work on expanding the training program for Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilots in order to “improve the potential” of the Ukrainian Air Force.

    “Including training 18 more pilots next year,” Biden added.
